How do you survive fast and complex Ruedas?
The answer is simple: good technique.

On 8-9 February (Saturday and Sunday) 2025, Tanja will be offering a workshop on effective casino technique that will ensure you never feel disoriented or fall behind again. Mastering this technique will make even the most complex figures and elements easy to execute.

Tanja is part of the Rueda Power Technique Team, led by Sassan. She will teach key principles such as the three-seven rule, group awareness, magic triangles, and effective stepping and caminando techniques. This curriculum is based on a Rueda technique successfully taught at various international Rueda festivals.

Tanja is also part of a teaching team from Berlin known for their “Berlin style Rueda de Casino,” or Rueda Caminando (as others call it). The team refers to it as TOCADOF – Transition Oriented Calling and Developing of Figures – a system developed by Sassan, who is an integral member of the teaching team.

We love calling and dancing fast Ruedas—not in terms of music tempo, but in the speed of calling. Rather than dancing Guapeas, we call one simple figure after another, creating Ruedas with a smooth, continuous flow. For us, the most important things are flow and fun!

Music is life for Tanja, who’s a professional jazz singer and jazz teacher and her passion for music shines through in her dancing and dance tuition. It’s hard to believe her when she describes one of her first brushes with salsa as “I didn’t break my leg and neither did my dance partner, but there wasn’t much more”. 
Of all the salsa styles, Casino (more commonly referred to as Cuban salsa) and it’s music (Timba) is her favorite along with Rueda de Casino and Son. 
She’s been teaching these dance stlyes and musicality for years and is constantly seeking out opportunities to improve.
